Description

Anything a conventional motor oil can do Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic improves upon. In fact, Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic 0W-16 Motor Oil provides 24X stronger protection against engine-killing contaminants than the industry-leading full synthetic brand. Engineered with the highest quality base oils and additives, it delivers 25% better deposit protection and 40% better protection against wear than industry standards. Less wear means improved fuel efficiency, stronger performance, and a longer-lasting engine. Short trips or stop-and-go traffic are hard on a car, causing extreme heat and temperature fluctuations inside your engine that can lead to harmful sludge and extra friction. Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil uses additional boosters to minimize the effects of heat. And in the winter, it flows easily at low temperatures for enhanced cold start protection. Trade up to one of our best motor oil for superior performance in all types of environments and conditions, and ensure your Honda Civic, Nissan Rouge, Ford F150, Dodge Ram, GMC Sierra (or most any other make or model) is a smooth-running machine. Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil, made and formulated in America, from the Original Motor Oil brand.

FAQ

Open FAQ Is it ok to switch motor oil weights?

Is it ok to switch motor oil weights?

It depends. Some vehicle manufacturers provide a range of recommended motor oil viscosity grades based on the outside temperature in which the car is driven. Other manufacturers recommend the use of only one motor oil viscosity grade. For best engine performance, always follow the manufacturer's recommendations found in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

Open FAQ What does the

What does the "w" in a grade of motor oil stand for?

The "w" in motor oil stands for winter. The first number in the oil classification refers to a cold weather viscosity. The lower this number is, the less viscous your oil will be at low temperatures. For example, a 5W- motor oil will flow better at lower temperatures than a 15W- motor oil. The higher number, following the “w” refers to hot weather viscosity, or how fluid your oil is at hot temperatures. The higher the number, the thicker the oil at a specified temperature.

Open FAQ Why do some motor oils carry the

Why do some motor oils carry the "API Certified - For Gasoline Engines" starburst symbol on the bottle while others do not?

The starburst symbol means that the oil meets the requirements of the International Lubricants Specification Advisory Committee (ILSAC) in addition to the requirements of API, as stated in the API starburst symbol on the back of the bottle. Only certain viscosity grades are eligible for the starburst symbol.

Open FAQ How many miles can you go before changing oil?

How many miles can you go before changing oil?

Some motor oil brands claim 20,000-mile oil change intervals. But it comes down to individual driving habits, conditions, and ultimately what’s recommended in your vehicle owner manual. Valvoline recommends referring to your owner’s manual for oil change intervals.

How do you know Valvoline provides 24X stronger protection vs. the industry-leading brand?

How do you know Valvoline provides 24X stronger protection vs. the industry-leading brand?

In addition to Valvoline motor oil being certified and approved by the American Petroleum Institute (API) to meet OEM quality and performance standards, we performed side-by-side ASTM-D7563 emulsion tests comparing Valvoline with the industry-leading synthetic. We didn’t stop there. Using a third-party testing service, Valvoline also had the motor oil independently evaluated. Both comprehensive tests revealed the same results: All Valvoline full synthetic motor oils offer 24X stronger protection against engine-killing contaminants than the industry-leading full synthetic.
